Account Manager - German Speaking

Job Function:  Management and development of existing and new key retail and foodservice accounts focussing on Germany.

Location: Ireland or Germany or Holland

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with customers and achieve excellent account management
  • Understand customer’s way of working and proactively offer them solutions to streamline process and drive improvement all along the supply chain 
  • Own all aspects of Account Management
  • Building excellent relationship both internally and with customers will be key in this role
  • With the guidance of Commercial director, develop and implement joint business plans with the assigned account(s) to maximise category returns and drive sales through the account
  • Actively seek to improve account service levels according to customer’s expectations.
  • Manage, monitor and co-ordinate customer satisfaction and complaints
  • Build positive relationship internally with colleagues from various departments using excellent communication skills and sharing relevant information
  • Achieve sales targets and assist in improving bottom line profitability
  • Actively seek new business opportunities with existing or new accounts
  • Prepare and analyse monthly/weekly sales statistics
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for sales meetings, customer visits etc.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of market, improve overall market knowledge
  • Main responsibilities will be for German accounts but possibility to get involved in other European markets.
  • Some travel will be required

Key Skills Competencies:

  • Min. 2 years experience in a Sales / Sales Support environment, preferably within the Food Business
  • Fluency (written and oral) in English is essential.
  • Fluency in German (written and oral) is also a requirement.
  • Knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Third level qualification in business or marketing an advantage.
  • Open and friendly manner, with excellent communication skills and a strong customer orientation.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, coupled with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Good telephone manner and knowledge of customer care environment.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team, while able to work on own initiative and adhere to deadlines.
  • Results focused with good commercial acumen and understanding of sales processes and profitability
