                                                                           Effluent Plant Operator

 

Role Description:

To Maintain and Run the Site Effluent plant operation, improve efficiencies safely through effectively implementing preventative maintenance and testing schedules and responding in a timely manner to breakdown repairs. Ensure continuous improvement methodologies are applied that improves the operational function. Maintain and Comply with all regulatory testing and Sample taking with respect to NRW (Natural Resources Wales), Welsh Water.

Manage and Assist GP Services with Drain cleaning and Sludge Tanks. Full Training Given

Responsibilities:

  • To maintain Health & Safety rules and regulations
  • To identify potential hazards/risks to the Health & Safety Manager/responsible person upon discovery.
  • To ensure all PPM schedules are completed and reported back to your assigned supervisory engineer.
  • To assist the Engineering department in achieving its budget targets through the efficient use of Chemicals and replacement parts for the Effluent Plant
  • To follow the correct accounting/authorisation process when ordering replacement parts.
  • Maintain and improve standards of hygiene and housekeeping in all areas of the Effluent Plant and associated areas including the Pumping Pits and Discharge points.
  • Carry out un-supervised maintenance on all Low skill - High frequency repetitive tasks assigned to you in the Effluent plant and associated area.
  • Running of equipment correctly to produce best results.

Key Tasks (Maintenance & Repairs):

  • Cleaning the Pumping Pits
  • Cleaning the Lorry wash
  • Maintain Correct Dosing of the chemicals
  • Use of mobile plant
  • Filling out required paperwork
  • Obtaining samples as required
  • Recording daily readings around site
  • Data entering

Other Duties:

  • Transfer best practice to further the development and performance of the Effluent Plant.
  • To be aware of and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

Personal Profile:

You will be expected to work on a specific list of equipment carrying out planned preventative maintenance.

You will be expected to fault find under supervision of a qualified engineer. You will possess good analytical skills with the ability to break down and solve problems in a logical and structured manner.

You will have the ability to work to your own initiative and as part of a team with monitored supervision.
