Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical

Reporting to: Engineering Maintenance Manager

The successful candidate will welcome undertaking a broad range of tasks including providing speedy efficient responses to any breakdowns and leading planned maintenance activity. They will be pro-active in creating ideas and implementing solutions that will increase business productivity.

This position is crucial to the efficient running of our site; therefore, the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with internal departments/contractors.


Main Duties:

  • Brokering a close relationship with Production Managers, Supervisors and Line Leaders.
  • Carry out ppm tasks on a wide range of plant and manufacturing machinery to the highest standard.
  • Electrical and Mechanical trouble shooting and repairs.
  • Provide technical support to stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Assist in developing and continuously improving preventative and predictive maintenance routines.
  • Support Production and Engineering teams in achieving targets and KPI’s.
  • Closely monitor line and machine performance.
  • Intervene on the production line as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs.
  • Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment, installations, and modifications.
  • To ensure that your areas of work are clean and safe.
  • Update the maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic/ troubleshooting and resolution experience gained in a hi-volume environment.
  • To ensure that you are available to undertake any Learning, Development, Training and Continuous Improvement initiatives (flexibility may be required to attend training ‘off shift’).

  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent (electrical bias)
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills



  • Trades Qualification – ONC or equivalent is desirable.
  • Experience in food production or similar environment would be beneficial.
  • Practical experience of maintaining conveyors, packing machines (including flow wrappers, food processing equipment, robotics or similar machinery is desirable.
