Reporting to:  Maintenance Manager

 

Job Purpose: Responsible for the performance of the area maintenance function as measured by core metrics of safety, performance & people management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of Maintenance System to best practice standard in the area, including 24/7 cover management
  • Lead & manage department maintenance team to deliver on Core KPIs
    Leadership and development of Maintenance technicians in conjunction with Maintenance Manager
  • Implementation of Maintenance guiding principle by ensuring that “Equipment is always maintained to manufacturers delivered quality”.
  • Liaise with Ops team to ensure area lay out and maintenance practices meet 5S standards to protect machinery from damage.
  • Use the total resources of the Site team to deliver a combined improvement in results.
  • Manage quality and safety of outside contractors while in the department.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement process in Maintenance function.
  • Ownership of 5S in maintenance areas and workshop
  • Ensure department spend is within allocated expenditure and labour budget
  • Root cause analysis of breakdowns and implementation of corrective actions

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives(Prize delivered)
  • Adherence to Lean Maintenance road map.
  • Quality - Audit adherence to Maintenance  Manual - Manufacturers manual
  • Completion of PM’s and GWR’s in a timely manner
  • People: Development (training plans), Management (absenteeism, cost /hr)
  • Efficiency – OEE and Downtime
  • Safety – As H&S metrics
  • Cost – Budget & Labour#

 

Skills/ Experience

  • Interpersonal & HR management skills.
  • Level 7 qualification in Mechanical Engineering/ Electrical (Equivalent)
  • Prior experience in the meat/ food industry would be very advantageous
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools
  • Experience in CMMS system and interrogation.
  • Scada knowledge would be desirable
  • HACCP Certification would be desirable
  • Experience and/ or qualification in Lean Manufacturing principles would be a distinct advantage.
