Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician- Apprenticeship Programme

We are currently seeking to recruit individuals who want to start their careers as Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technicians.

 

What to expect:

As part of this apprenticeship, you will gain exposure in areas such as mechanical/electrical maintenance and engineering skills within highly automated food manufacturing environments, you will perfect your trade in maintaining and repairing a variety of manufacturing equipment.

At the end of a 4 year period, you will be qualified as an electrician with QQI Advanced Level 6 Electrical Trade Certificate, once qualified as an electrician there will be an option of undertaking a part time degree in mechatronics engineering over a two year period.

 

Day to day duties:

  • Assist and shadow a qualified electrician and follow instructions
  • Prepare and clean work areas
  • Carry and deliver materials
  • Install, repair, and maintain various electrical wiring systems and equipment
  • Use measuring equipment and hand tools to perform conduit work
  • Follow safety codes and building regulations
  • Be flexible to work on a number of shifts
  • Be open to working in a food processing abattoir environment.
  • Will also be required to attend classes in line with the Solas apprenticeship programme.

 

Ideal Candidates:

Must have a can do attitude and a willingness to learn. You may be required to travel to other sites in Ireland so a driving license is an advantage.

Qualified applicant must be a well-organized, motivated team player who is hungry to learn the electrician trade. He / she must be able to follow instructions and apply knowledge that they have learned.
