Description

Main Duties:

  • Maintain Health and Safety Standards
  • Maintain Animal welfare at all times
  • Maintain Hygiene Standards
  • Communicate effectively
  • Maintain Quality
  • Carry out slaughtering and handling of carcasses on aproduction line
  • Stun livestock
  • Bleed livestock
  • Prepare for dressing
  • Dress carcasses for evisceration
  • Eviscerate carcasses
  • Prepare carcasses for inspection
  • Maintain and safely operate tools and equipment
  • Deal with waste
  • Finish products to required specifications and yield
  • Achieve product specification within the required timescale
  • Carry out other duties as directed by the Department Manager/Supervisor

Skills and Experience: 

  • Competence and experience in Slaughter skills beneficial
  • Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial
  • Able to work in chilled environment
  • Manual handling ability and awareness
  • Fluent English, communicate well in written and oral form with multi-nationals on all levels
  • Flexibility to meet daily production targets
  • Consistent approach and strong work ethic
  • Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
  • Adaptable to change and production demands
  • Passion for food
