JOB PURPOSE/PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for the strategic direction and results of the technical supply chain function within Kepak Foods Division.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

Technical Director Kepak Foods Division.  

 

LOCATION:

Flexible depending on the preference of successful person, could be either UK or Ireland.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the Auditing team to ensure they are engaged and high performing with a focus on problem solving and teamwork.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction and results of the technical supply chain function within Kepak Foods Business
  • External and Internal auditing of suppliers/vendors and third parties for materials or services contracted by the company’s internal manufacturing/Agent and Broker sites.
  • Development, revision, maintenance and implementation of quality auditing procedures including auditing techniques for data integrity assessments, policies, technical papers, risk assessments, business continuity plans (TACCP/VACCP) and quality agreements.
  • Responsible for communication with stakeholders within the business unit and the various manufacturing sites.
  • Authors, reviews and approves new procedures and/or revision of current procedures relevant to the Technical supply chain department.
  • Ensures audits are performed against the Kepak standards
  • Ensures the audit program is compliant with current regulations, internal procedures, requirements and timelines
  • Responsible for the harmonisation of auditing systems and processes to integrate the various Kepak sites
  • Provide Quality Assurance review and/or approval for supplier related activities impacting the Kepak Foods Business, including but not limited to Changes/Deviations, Specifications and Technical Agreements.
  • Ensures timely and accurate communication, escalation of critical audit observations to managers, partners, stakeholders and staff
  • Collection, collation and reporting of applicable Technical/Quality auditing Performance metrics
  • Ensure continuous development, coaching and cross training of staff
  • Oversee establishment of enhanced auditing training program, auditing standards and auditing development plans
  • Lead and participate in cross functional Supplier Technical Meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a positive proactive relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Represent the Technical Supply Chain team in multi departmental meetings and project teams.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Industry standards and regulatory requirements for products developed or manufactured for supplier related approached utilised by Kepak.

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

  • Lead auditor training a must (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, IFS etc.)
  • 10 + years’ experience in the FMCG sector with exhibited knowledge and proficiency working with internal and external stakeholders
  • 4+ years in a leadership position, with direct experience overseeing Supplier Quality Systems preferred
  • Organisational skills with the ability to effectively plan, schedule, execute and track complex projects
  • Ability to speak, present data, and defend approaches in front of audiences and inspectors
  • Experience with cross functional project management
  • Experience working in diverse manufacturing settings
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Note: as with all positions, due to the nature of the business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time.  Travel within Ireland, UK and international will be necessary.
